Hi I’m Rebekah!
I am a licensed home birth midwife serving families in the Spokane and surrounding areas.
I was born in the Spokane area in a wildly exciting home birth in which I came flying out of my mother way too fast and landed on my dad’s foot, it’s my claim to fame to this day. I guess you could say my journey to midwifery began there.
I love travel and have spent time living and doing mission work in developing and third world nations. I spent 8 years working with a non-profit Christian missions organization called Youth With A Mission (YWAM). My work with YWAM brought me to areas of the world such as Thailand, Cambodia, Azerbaijan, Kenya, Uganda and the Philippines. It is because of the exposure to the world and it’s needs that I was compelled to become a midwife.
I did my midwifery training in the Philippines where I worked full time “catching babies” and caring for pregnant women at a high volume Christian charity based birth center serving impoverished women and their families.
I live in a tiny house that I designed and built (with some help of course!). I do all my prenatal care in my tiny house and think it is such a cozy and relaxed atmosphere to care for and get to know my clients. I keep my client volume low so that I can know that I will have time to invest into each client and build a relationship with them. My ultimate goal whenever I begin care with a client is to have a safe a peaceful birth and for my clients to feel informed and supported.
My heart’s desire is to use midwifery as a tool to serve the community around me and to be a blessing to others. I believe birth is such an amazing and God designed process and I feel privileged to support women and their families throughout the childbearing cycle.
